WEST NEWTON

RESIDENCE

About

The master design plan employs a series of areas within the landscape while providing a harmonious connection between the house and the gardens.
A thoughtfully crafted natural cleft bluestone staircase, surrounded by boulders and drifts of perennials create a welcoming sense of arrival to the back of the property. Approaching the top of the hill the terrain opens up onto a flat expansive lawn, ideal for playing family games. The lush green lawn is also a conduit connecting an elegant patio area anchored by a natural stone sitting wall and built-in grill to an abundant kitchen garden with raised cedar beds.

Brilliant flowering and foliage combinations surround the entire property. New Tupelo, Gingko, Dogwood, Stewartia, Arborvitae and Japanese Snowbell trees were introduced to enhance scale, while hydrangeas, viburnums, boxwoods and perennials provide prolific understory color throughout each season.
