As culinary enthusiasts, the homeowners wanted to bring the cooking outdoors. The existing patio area was reconstructed and converted into an outdoor kitchen by expanding the footprint and featuring a custom-built wood-burning pizza oven, a stainless-steel grill, warming drawers, storage cabinets, a sink, a refrigerator, and kegerator for craft beer. The meticulously crafted stonework anchors the new entertainment space and creates a connection to the lower landscape.

A smokeless wood burning firepit and Soake Pool were integrated into a private nook surrounded by drifts of abundant plantings, under the canopy of a mature Japanese Maple. Existing plantings were relocated around the property while new vegetation was incorporated to create a prolific backdrop and focal points.

Circulation patterns were adjusted to link together the outdoor living and recreation area, unifying the overall property. The new landscape provides a comfortable space for the entire family to explore, evolve and grow.
